Brief :

CDC department targets the university students and graduates in order to be trained, qualified and finding an active link between them and the Market needs. It is clear now how hard to find a good job. CDC works to build the ability of our students to interpret the theory into practical after graduation.  With that aim, the CDC enabled the university to sign several memorandums of understanding with few large companies to engage our students into extensive training courses in their majors to be qualified enough. In addition, CDC works with a third party to develop their skills in establishing small businesses and being self-employed. CDC encourages the students to work in the private rather than the public sector or even initiate their own mini projects.

CDC Missions & Tasks

• Being a Bridge between the labor sector & Basra University Students
• Targeting the governmental, private companies and organizations to o collaborate.
• Follow up and monitoring the students who join the summer internship programs and assess the process through a robust assessment sheet.  
• All of our support is free
• Conduct courses on how to write a cv, passing an interview job and English and computer skills are the most common and frequent ones.
• Encouraging the leadership culture rather than relying on waiting for the job.
• An annual job fair called employers, students and graduates will be held and will include workshops and lectures outlining the requirements of employers and the skills available to students.

Center goals : 

CDC department targets the university students and graduates in order to be trained, qualified and finding an active link between them and the Market needs. It is clear now how hard to find a good job. CDC aims to shift the students thinking to find alternatives for the governmental positions and how that would be critical to decrease the number of unemployed people and sustains the national economy. The postgraduate students are also part of our plans in qualifying them to get a decent profession.
