International Day of Geologists 4/7/2019

The Rehabilitation and Employment Center at Basra University, in cooperation with the British Petroleum Company (BP), organized a training workshop entitled "International Geologists Day" at the Academy's headquarters / Northern Rumaila, coinciding with the anniversary of the celebration of this day, with the participation of fourth stage students and professors of the Department of Geological Sciences / College of Science. The workshop dealt with The following themes:

A general explanation of the concept of safety and its importance at work sites

Explain the basic role of the geologist and its importance in the oil industries

Rumaila field overview

The prosperity and development of the oil industries over time

The layers that make up the Rumaila field

The nature and operations of existing drilling

Licking operations

Pulp Samples

The workshop focused on the practical side by using a lot of real samples and demonstration methods, which met with tangible interaction from the students. One of the participants added, saying: This step is a wonderful and important initiative to consolidate students' information and get to know the real geological reality in the oil companies and he called for more such workshops for their peers in the endless stages.
