The University of Basra Organizes Training Courses in Occupational Safety, First Aid, and Computer Skills

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and the supervision of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, the Science and Technology Parks Department/Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division at the University of Basra, in cooperation with Al-Houshan Company for Engineering Training and Inspection, organized training courses as part of the summer camp activities. These courses included: an occupational safety course according to OSH standards, a first aid course, and a computer skills and correspondence preparation course.

The courses aimed to develop the scientific and practical skills of the participants, promote a culture of occupational safety and risk prevention in the workplace, equip them with first aid skills for handling emergencies, and enhance their abilities in using computer programs and preparing administrative correspondence, thus contributing to raising their efficiency and preparing them for the job market.

 The courses included theoretical lectures and practical applications that addressed the principles of occupational safety according to OSH standards, risk prevention procedures and emergency response mechanisms, in addition to training participants on the basics of first aid, and the use of computer programs and their applications in preparing official correspondence and books, in order to achieve practical benefit and enhance the readiness of participants in different work environments.
